Actually apart from South Africa, which african country actually could host WC?

Rotation system doesn't sound too bad. And after all we still have EC.

England has a bad crime rate but it's not as crazy as some countries in the world.

WC 02 opened the rest of the world to Asian football and how much it doesn't really suck.

It reminded me of having to book time off work, pull sickies and watch games at stupid times. By far the worst world cup I've seen, add to that annoying Korean fans.

It should be about who's got the best sales pitch and the facilities to host such an event, but the end decision should favour some rotation.

you don't really have an excuse to whine with the times for that world cup

we in the Americas had to deal with games that were or 3-6 AM our local time for the 02 world cup

going back on topic:

I don't have problems with the rotation policy at all.

yeah but that would turn into who has the most money alot of countrys cant afford to invest in massive advertising campaigns just to then lose it richer countrys have got one up on them before they have even started. They should just stick to the rotation policy im not to sure why england is applying for it then if theres a rotation policy in place they wont be getting it.

i agree with some form of rotation but to have this proposed rotation of:

2010: South Africa
2014: Brazil (probably)
2018: USA or Mexico
2022: China/Middle East maybe
2026: Europe
2030: Africa
2034: S.America
2038: N.America
2042: Asia/Australasia
2046: Europe
etc. etc.

is stupid. There are at least 6 countries in Europe that could host the WC, 2 in Asia, 3/4 in Americas, 1/2 in Africa so I def reckon it should be something like

Europe ----> Americas ----> Other -----> Europe etc.

Just my two pence worth.

It has to come to England soon though, its the only way we've got a chance of winning it.....lol

Only other country with remote possibility is Egypt IIRC but they'd have to do a lot of investing in infrastructure. (though with their tourism industry, at least some infrastructure is already there)

Sepp Blatter is an idiot. A few months ago, he was encouraging the FA to bid for 2018, now he rules out England until at least 2026? Hopefully this man ing dies soon and a real football person can take his place.

Based on the realities of the footballing world, Europe should host this tournament at least every other or every third time around. And the next time it comes to Europe, England should get it.

With this tub of in charge, Iran will be able to make a serious bid.

USA held back in 1994 so no chance.

I do when I have to book time off work which I could be spending abroad. At least with 3 Am you could get some sleep in earlier wake up early and watch it.

It was biggist heap of wank I've seen as a World Cup. Especially the bias decisions the Koreans got in their favour.

They should keep it the same as they've always had it.

I wouldn't be so sure about the USA not getting it for awhile. Everybody seems really up on this idea of expanding football to the USA and the only way Americans get interested in anything is if THEY are the centre of attention. God forbid they can't watch the games on TV if they aren't being played inside the continental United States!

Besides, Germany got the World Cup a mere 32 years after they hosted it the last time even though England should have been next in line for Europe. But FIFA is not fair; they are nearly as bad as the IOC for corruption, bribing and idiocy so I'm never surprised at Blatter's/FIFA's retarded ideas.

I wholeheartedly agree here.

Not including england, there are countries in europe who are already capable of hosting such tournaments. England has all the stadia built already (with wembley all but finished now) and you could even include cardiff & glasgow & edinburgh for some games if needed, We've invested so much already in these new statiums (except portsmouth & fulham but they just have rich owners so can get away with it)

Africa hosts the cup of nations in many places rather well, however there's lots of countries with problems, also in asia, it's one thing to have a good stadium, it's another to have security issues.

If small nations want to host it, they could band together. get 4 or 5 of those together & use their best facilities and it might be feasible. With china having the olympics, i'd stay away for a bit from there, but take into account how they hold that as to if they can hold football. Other countries like saudi arabia & iran are so passionate but sadly I couldn't see there not being trouble with some western countries. Brazil too is really unsafe in places, they kidnap their own players ffs!

Let's just hope 2010 doesn't let South Africa waltz through the group stages or anything... and create another Korea... because I really don't want to see a South Africa national team in another world cup after 2010... yes I've read the arguments for the WC creating buzz and making programs better... BUT I want the USA to be good in 20 years, not South Africa or some country that isn't the USA!!!!

I don't really have a problem with who hosts it, just the automatic entry to the host country, thats dumb... sure its their home country, but its the WORLD CUP... if your team sucks, you shouldn't get an automatic spot, you should have to compete like all the rest of the world... no more freebies!
