Nowadays it is kinda hard to release pure trance mixes month after month - especially if you want to drop remarkable tunes only. To keep my themes unique I keep exploring new paths, see new horizons. Some of you already know that I am into prog and electro house lately. So this mix was just a matter of time. Here it is - carefully selected house tracks in slighly over 1h mix. Lots of electro sounds responsible for the "cosmic" part of the theme. Second component (related to "nite") means very danceable, sexy, funky, naughty grooves. You'll love it.
The mix starts in funky-lazy style with Trentemoller's track. It brilliantly pictures two crucial elements of the mix mentioned above. What's more - it has claps. You are going to hear lots of claps in this hour. Second track is a remake of INXS - Need You Tonight. After that - probably my fav in the mix and inspiration for the title: Sebastien Leger - Cosmonite. I simply can't resist its beat. OMG so sexy. Frankfurt nicely keeps the flow. Love the claps here :) Then Aqualight which is another great contribution to the theme. It reminds me of Daft Punk - Around The World. I actually regret I haven't used that classic here. Anyway, next track is something special. The mash-up of Mono - Waiting For You and Dave McCullen - Bitch in Hoxton Whores remix. I'm pretty excited, because it sounds really complimenting and fits the theme. We continue being naughty with dirty Chris Lake - Shake. My Pony Back is kind of a filler before the killer - Juan Magan and Gio Lopez tune. Slipping Away is nice and easy before fat electro Creeps. The mix ends with best seller of early February - Jacks Funk. Hope you had a great hour with my mix :)

Here's my review (I did it as I listened)...
Very chill begining, almost makes me want to sit down on a big couch and enjoy a nice drink.
The INSX song is very ominous and has a dark tone to it but flows well especially coming from the previous track. Bridges the gap between the mellow and the "get-out-your-dancing shoes" Cosmonite track
Cosmonite, very sweet mellow tech-prog-electro tune that does indeed grasp the theme of your mix, kudos!
I didn't even notice the mix into the song after Cosmonite. The break at around 19:05 is the first big break in the mix so far which is good since the last couple tracks built up to it. If people aren't dancing now then they need to get their ass up.
Aqualight is a familiar tune but I don't know from where, another well selected track. Mixing into this track was good however maybe take a little more time to introduce the melody song, mix was a little quick in my opinion.
I'm really diggin' this mash-up of yours, nice and fat bass and a groovy tune; however, I'm not sure if I like the abrupt volume level change starting at 27:54, caught me off guard.
Shake has a really smooth falling bass line, I really like it. Of course has some odd vocals but most of the songs in this genre do. I REALLY wish I had so HUGE subs for the "bass-solo" at 33:18, my Bose QC3's pick it up well but this is the kind of bass that would rattle everything and only big subs do it justice.
My Pony Back is getting into the sound of electro I LOVE, the break at 33:26 is killer.
For the next song... I like sex, enough said :whip: Seems like this singer is about to say "Funky anal sex" or thats implied :) Dirty :toothless
I'm really feeling the mix into Slipping Away but the first thing I thought of when the vocals started was Pet Shop Boys. This song seems a little out of place with the direction the mix. It's a good song, but for this, I'm not a huge fan of it.
YES! Creeps! I like how you held the last song past the first big break (different than what I did in my Feb promo), I love this song. Nothing much else to say.
I also own Jacks Funk, great song, thats why it was a best-seller, great mix!
Summary: Tight mixing, great song selection and buildup. Quality as usual.
I posted a thread a couple weeks ago about my Radio show each Sunday from 2-3PM Central Time (US) and solicited DJ's to make a mix more than 50 min and no more than 57 minutes to feature in the hour I have. I would love to play something of yours (Unforutunatly this is a little long for it). If you ever get a chance to put something together I would be happy to feature you.
BTW: Listen to Music From The Heart (Original Mix) by Oliver Koletzki, I'll think you'll like it.

woah! everett! thanks for your step-by-step review and for your kindness :) I'm glad you liked it so much. You've pointed some things and I totally agree with you. I wasn't sure about Slipping Away dropped there, but it seemed to work fine with the earlier track and I wanted to give a mellow moment before the Creeps to emphasize its awesomness and to avoid simple and constant buildup near the end.
As for your radio show. That would be great! I can actually remove the last track to make it 57 mins long. Or you could just fade out the set in the right time. That's ok for me.
Checked out that Oliver Koletzki track. Pretty good. Didn't know that one, it's fresh. And it has the claps, heh :)
DanielD - let me know how you like it ;) |

| This is great. The mix has this "in your face" feel which I really like. There is some attitude in a lot of these tunes. Especially "Anton Neumark - Need You Tonight (Good Will and Tommie Trash Remix)", "Juan Magan & Gio Lopez - I Let U Funk Me (Original Mix)" and "The Freaks - The Creeps (Vandalism Remix)", got to love these tunes. I agree a little bit with everett on the moby song. Although I think it would work great in a club before dropping "The Creeps" as you said. Regarding the transitions, they were all very good, nothing to complain about there. I like it when the beatmatching is really tight and indeed it is was in this one. Well done and good luck in the future! |

so happy you liked my effort!
this means A LOT to me, especially after I was astounded with your Feb promo. Kind words from a talented dj are the best prize. Cheers!
anybody else had a chance to bounce to this mix? |

| I gave it a listen at work last week. From a technical standpoint, you are right on as always - excellent phrasing, excellent EQing, excellent beatmatching. I simply cannot get into this genre, unfortunately. I'll always be an uplifting trance fan at heart. Of course I remain a loyal fan and listener. :D |

Creeps is such a sick song! I'm jsut about to give this mix a listen, it will be itneresting to see how you build the mix up to the creeps!
edit: Well I just listened to this set as I was reading, and I must say I loved it. Track selection is 10/10. In this electro craze that is going on there is a lot of bad stuff, but you picked all top quality tracks that all fit nicely in the set. I can understand the comments about slipping away not fitting in, but once you played it I think it fit very well in the set too.
Mixing was quite good. I didn't notice anything significant and you really brought the songs in quickly so as to keep the energy going. The mashup, though done pretty well, I would've been ok without. |
