acting in a gay role?

i love the show queer as folk and i asked some friends if they would act in a gay role if they were in a movie or a television show. i would do it. i don't see why not...

i think there may be a lot of difference between male and female opinions on here, so inquire, would you act in a gay role (or if you are gay, would you play the role of someone who is straight)?

would you do it if a lot of money is involved, or how graphic the scenes would have to be or what? i think i might feel uncomfortable acting a graphic scene, but other than that, i'd be fine.

I'd do it, I mean it's just a role. I don't think I'd do porn but I would do a regular sitcom like a Will & Grace type of thing.

hahah reminds me of andy in EXTRAS...

Last time I was on a casting I told them I'd play gay or a paedophile, no problem

i've known a few actors and the general consensus was always that it was just that - acting. you have to do and say some pretty wacky as an actor (depending on how outrageous the role is), so i don't really think it's a big deal to them.

and hell yeah, i'd do it.

Why are you so interested in gay topics ? This is your second thread seeking opinions on straight who are not gay but act like gay people.

she's curious. She's taking a class on it I believe, so she's just furthering her research. :)

haha i knew someone would bring up the fact that this is the second gay related topic i have brought up. it's just interest and inquiry of other people's opinions. i don't see much wrong with that?

i can inform or ask you guys on something about jaapanese culture or fijian culture and i haven't seen any japanese people or fijian people on here. it's almost like saying someone who is into the punk culture can't be into the hip hop culture.

you asked me why i am so interested in gay topics. the way i recieved your post was as if you were basically saying "why are you interested in this topic when you are straight?" just because i'm not gay doesn't mean i can't be interested in some of the topics that relate to gay culture. see where i'm coming from?
