second disc is much better. imo the first disc's mixing is shoddy at the beginning, but then again i was listening to it in a pair of crappy earbuds.
all in all, the tracklist didn't look that impressive before hearing the mix, and after listening to both discs, i'm still not feelin it. it actually reminds me of the desyn masiello balance 008 hype. everyone was orgasming over it and when i listened to it, i just thought "meh." perhaps the genre(s) just isn't my style. don't get me wrong, you can tell some of the mixes luke did was really well thought out, but other times it just feels like he throws two tracks together.. didn't like the flow... meh. |

That's what I was thinking as well - The mixing early on in the first disc, is just not very good. The intro track was one I just wasn't feeling, and then hearing that absolutely wretched (and clearly not well beatmatched) mix out of it really made me want to turn the whole thing off, but once we hit about 20 minutes into the first disc it's smooth sailing, and from there on out, I really love it. |

it does get much better about halfway through, but you'd think after realizing he mixed ty so early on in the cd, he would've just started over and re-done it. no shame in that. i'm gonna listen to this cd again tomorrow and see if it changes my mind a bit.. |

programming on disc one pisses all over the programming on disc two.
not to say that disc two is bad or anything... because it's certainly not. i love both discs, but out of the two, disc one is the one that i feel has a much more fluid structure to it. just the way it progresses and builds from beginning to end is like sex.
but i suppose its all a matter of personal preference. :p |

Man I couldn't disagree with you more on this one. The beginning of disc one just feels like it's all over the place to me.

No, you're right. I finally listened last night, and there were a few moments where I was cringing at what I was hearing.
It's not quite my cup o' tea, but I still simply don't get what the huge deal is about this thing. Maybe it's because I listened to it right after One + One, and maybe it's because of that transition early on in disc one that just completely ignores any concept of harmonic mixing, but I still didn't finish the two of them thinking nearly as highly of them as a lot of people here. The second disc was a lot better than the first, IMO, but the whole thing just wreaks of 'meh' to me. |

Honestly I don't find the first transition "ty" as some have been saying. :conf:
Can anyone please explain WHY it's ty? :conf: |

It sounds odd and off beat to me.
It just doesn't sound like a good mix. |

I wasn't referring to the very first one...it's the 2nd or 3rd, I think. |

not to mention it's not phrased the best imo. makes me wonder if he did it like that on purpose.

i agree in some respects because disc 2 just starts bangin right off the bat, which i liked in a way, but it started to get a little more mellow towards the end and imo that doesn't make sense. reverse orgasm i guess. |
