Judge Jules is a bad ass DJ. And if your name isn't Ferry Corsten or Paul van Dyk; etc... then you need to shut up cause chances are that you can't put on a better set then some of Judge Jules best sets. I personally don't think that he is the #1 DJ in the world; however, he deserves a lot more respect then some of you are giving him. If you are playing at tours as big as "Trance Energy" and rockin the in house, then you deserve some respect.
Dj Cold As Ice
yeah, I agree with the fellow TA above me.

The Judge's sets from Trance Energy and Qontact are great in my opinion. Oh, and alot of you are calling his trance cheese? Why? Is it because it's so popular? Whatever.... I know a good set when I hear one and I think I know my trance pretty damn ing well, thank you very much.

Though, I can speak of the Judge because I have seen him live in Toronto when he played at the Guvernment nightclub this past October. In all honesty, his set sucked the big one. He played almost ALL HOUSE and his mixing was mediocre and there didn't seem to be any flow or character behind it. Although, he did seem like he was into his set and the crowd reacted really well for a pathetic house set. But that's not what I payed 30 bucks Canadian to go and see him do. I thought he was a trance DJ, but I don't know since he played all house when he was in Toronto, for shame. I definitely would not want to see him live again, unless it was for free or something like 5 Canadian dollars to see him, then I would go. He really boggles me as an artist, I wonder what he prefers in his tastes. Trance? House? Techno? It's really anyone's guess.

So yeah, I think he is a mediocre DJ, not great, not bad, but ok, and a bit too overrated. He needs to be a hell of alot more creative in his sets, needs to keep things interesting, needs to DO HIS ING JOB BETTER! (at least live)

Thank you.

Firstly,Jules CAN mix, quite good actually.Ever listened to his show on Radio 1?Secondly,yes he plays cheesy tracks from time to time, but all trance-DJs do that. You can't slag him for being a bad DJ simply because he plays some tracks you don't happen to like!Personally,I kinda admire him for having the guts to play as different records as Guy McAffer - Raw 009 and Dreamcatcher - I Don't Wanna Lose My Way.:)Thirdly, punches clubbers in the face??!!!:eek:WTF?!When did he do that?

I think Jules is one of the few DJs that still dare to act a bit childish when it comes to DJing. It shows that he's still a bit down to earth, contrary to virtually every other DJ that is as popular as him. Most of the Big DJs are too concerned about their image nowadays, and that is not a good thing.Saying this,I've never seen or heard the Judge outside of Radio 1 broadcasts,so I can't be sure.Maybe he's an arrogant bastard out in clubs?

Maybe you should do a little more research on this guy before you go singing his praises!! The Judge is an overpaid twat. Nuff said.

Sorry but you back up your argument with???? This kinda stuff really annoys me. I can take anyones opinion, and it is yrs so fair enough, i just ask why you think that :) Based on what research :)

As a DJ he's at the Decent category, below the gods but above the e ones, but personally I wish he'd just do more interaction with his fans, Myself and plenty of mates have tried emailling him to ask for tune IDs etc and we don't get a reply, If he spent more time with the fans in this sense helping them, then maybe he'd get more respect as a person not just a DJ

All i have to say is :

If that aint interaction with the fans i dont no what is

oh and

Look at all the peeps around him :)

He had people talkin to him all night when he was trying to mix, it would annoy me. But he seemed to be answering all there questions.

Just because he interacts with a crowd does not make him a great DJ, although it does help your profile.

I still don't think he's capable of reaching his full potential as a DJ.

So one minute he does intereact the next he doesnt, jesus. U cant win. I thought the whole point of djing was to interact with the crowd :)

Lets face it not many people have got a good argument to suggest jj is bad. I only know of one of two, one being tu_face :)

Ok, my last post was a little confusing.

You should read my previous post. I think I'm fairly justified in my argument as to why he's not that great of a DJ. You're right about a DJ interacting with a crowd, but I just think he's lazy behind the decks or he doesn't actually mix tracks well. I don't know, I've only seen him spin live once and it wasn't all that great. He seemed to be dancing and fooling around with records rather than mixing or actually paying attention to the tracks he was dropping. I myself am not a DJ, I just call myself one, and I do hope to be spinning trance someday soon. I'm just giving some criticism and my opinions, nothing more.

:)

Please, don't take offence to what I'm saying. I'm just telling it like it is.

Yep that is fair enough, they r your opinions and justified. I dont ahve the right to say your opinion is wrong. I disagree on points. But it would be boring if we all thought the same :)
