i formated and want to start over again, i tried FL again, but i just can't deal with having to make a new pattern every time i wana change a little thing.

I'm tired of reason and its lack of quality sound, so what can i get thats similar to reasons interface, but has a better sound engine?

Really man!!! Nothing wrong with the sound Reason puts out!

And why would you have to make a new pattern each time in any DAW???
rulzz
try ableton

as for reason sound quality its quite a debate but its harder to get good sound quality out of reason than out of a good vst
Allied Nations
This is why I rewire into ableton :)

why are you making a new pattern every time you want to change something? why not just edit the existing pattern? am i missing something here?

i mean if i wana drop a kick drum for a beat, or like double hte hi hats so it builds up. i gota make a new pattern, its not hard, but it's annoying.

you dont have to do that anymore, now that there is pattern clips. at least for the kick part. you will still have to make a separate track for hats, because you can't cut out one element on pattern clips, at least as far as i know.

accutally you can you just automate the on and off or run it through some sort of controller eitherway it is possible but i guess the thing im not getting is why would you just copy n paste... you are aware you can copy and paste sample tracks also you just select the channels you want by holding ctrl and clicking the little green light next to them and then just ctrl c and then new playlist line ctrl v maybe im the only one that knows this but i doubt it...

Practice more with reason.
Iv played with reason quickly and heard some samples.
You can get a lot of good sounds out of it.

Learn your tools, don't run away for them.

I use ableton for producing, used to use fruity loops until i realizied it wasn't for me! So glad I've swapped over, my productions are sounding a lot better now.

well...similar to reason there's this thing called Dreamer developed by Ultrano...it seems he's out of bussiness already but you could probably still get it somewhere...

afaik it sounded quite good in it's early stages I was one of the beta-testers :)
