| Last time George Acosta played in NYC @ Spirit he cleared the dance floor. I got nothing but bad things to say about him.....anybody that sell their own cd for $40 at the end of the night just because it's signed is a ing tool bag if you ask me. A trance classics night would be cool and to me it wouldn't really matter who was spinning as long as they played all the classics and not just their own. |

question..... why hasn't George Acosta played in New York..... I here rumors of something that has happen, but don't know exactly what? Can someone inform me because im clueless |
He has. I saw him in 2002 or 3 at a rave called Utopia. He trainwrecked alot!! There werent many people dancing and I left about a quarter into his set.
Others were speculating that at the last party he spun before that one he didn't train wreck at all....and that was because allegendly he wasn't even djing. He was playin a CD and doing his best to play it off and turn some knobs here and there. His recent attempt at a comeback with his productions isn't doing so well either. |

Acosta was at Abyss back in 2001. One of the most cockiest DJs ever met. One of the sound guys asked him if he needed a drink and George asked for a Red Bull & Vodka. 5minutes later the sound guy comes back wit his drink and George was like "What the took you soo long" in a very arrogant tone. |

That sounds like the Acosta I know....and RTT he has yet to ever prove that he's gifted......gifted at being a complete ....yes! lol The guy really thinks he's gods gift to trance and I think everybody blew smoke up his ass saying "he brought trance to the US"....that's a load of crap and it went straight to his head. |

| Okay, lets call this the "George Acosta Appreciation" thread. I met him a few times too and since first I spoke with him in NY and a year later in NO his character indeed did a one eighty, but I was still impressed with his style up until I got out of the game for a little bit. Now days trance Ii been hearing doesn't really do it for me and I am not interested in getting back into it. |

we had a trance classics night here in Miami 2 weeks ago (Shadow Lounge reunion)... It was George Acosta and Edgar V in the main room. and I'm not a fan of Acosta's but those classics were INSANE!
Edgar played first, then George and then they played back to back....
some tracks we got to hear:
Ayla - angel falls
aqualords - witches
Solar Stone - Seven Cities [V-One's Living Cities Mix]
and right after that one Gouryella- Gouryella :eyespop:
System F - Out of the Blue
Mauro Picotto - Komodo
Mauro Picotto - Proximus
Utah Saints - Lost Witness
Firewire, Exploration of Space, We are Taking over Space, World in My Eyes, French Kiss, Cocaine...
you get the point... It made me realize [once again] how good trance from back in the day used to be! I hope you guys get a classics night because it was just INSANE! |

Sucks that there's hardly any trance in NYC, current or classic, these days
Well, I guess I'd go with Ferry - his Innercity set from 1999 really got me into trance
Oakenfold playing the tracks that put EDM on the map would be interesting.
Or how about Taucher, playing tunes from the days of his Webster Hall residency (with the Tranzworld nights) ? :p
Vic should play some Timeless Trance when he's here in April
I wonder if there's any DJ known for playing lots of Hooj Choons tracks
How about having an event like Crasher Classics?

When I was in London in 2004, at the Euphoria party at MOS, in addition to the main floor (with J00F, Darey, and others), there was a trance classics set being played for the last 2 hours, in one of the smaller rooms. I didn't spend much time there, but Ayla was one of the tunes I remember hearing. |
