I'm getting sick of the subtractor and malstrom, I want some more synths...
so I want to get a program that has VST support, but I dont plan on using the sequencer or anything else for that matter, I just want to use it for VST rewiring.
Should I go for one of the cheap Cubase versions, or is there something better for me? |

| If you just want Rewire capability, any of the low-end versions of Cubase will work (SE/LE/Studio4). I would recommend any of those since I really like Cubase. However, a much cheaper alternative would be FL Studio. I wouldn't recommend this as I completely despise the interface of it, but it IS a lot cheaper and a lot of people on this forum like it and can probably talking you into picking that over anything else. If you can get a student discount on Ableton Live (which should be somewhere around $250US), though, I would definitely take that over Cubase and FL, as I feel you would get the most bang for your buck. |
