An allen & heath xone32 in between two cdjs 800s :)

Surprisingly enough, I didnt really use the pitch fade effects for this mix, but all the mixes were done with filters, mainly the hipass.
Paulr
very nice set indeed. but wat could we be expecting from you except a better mix the next time... lol

this is class all the way
I love those HP filters.
however, i find that the cx-1 LP is better than xone LP.

10x, that's my goal everytime man, otherwise it's no fun, I'm mixing these sets just simply because it allows me to be self-critical and improve :)

I've not tried the cx-1 low pass. How does it sound better? My xone 32 frequency variable goes down to a 100hz, and I believe the xone92 goes all the down to 50hz.

my djm400 has the crappiest filters you could imagine

you cant control the freq or length manually... :(

Its got an LFO ( Low frequency oscilliator ) attached to its low pass, I dont even think you can adjust the rate of that too...
Marcus007
:(

i mainly use echo and delay

especially echo on a buildup :D

Well Moe,
I guess the cx-1 has a huge range.
It cuts anything else than low eqs. HAHA.

But im comparing the cx-1 filters to my 62's.
Wat i meant to say is, the thing with the xone 62 LP is that u need to adjust the resonance and be careful cause once u get in the middle of the filter's range (LP), too much resonance would cause a HUGE low eq's BOOST.
The good thing on the CX-1 is that they made it in a way that a single knob would control the filter and at the same time provide a resonance "pattern" that Vestax has developped so it has more resonance at the beginning of the filter's range. Once you get to a lower range, the resonance tend to fade so you would only hear the subs.

I guess what I'm saying makes no sense or is very bad written.
My old english teacher would kill me if she had the chance.:whip:

What you're saying makes perfect sense Paul, a little jumbled, but it makes sense.

The vestax's resonance will change as you change frequencies, there's just no knob to adjust how wet/dry it is. It has it's own resonance curve built in, which can make it a lot cleaner.
