It'd probably be hard to tell. Indian holymen have been hitting the weed through a chillum for centuries. In Sanskrit it was called ganjika, seeing as Sanskrit seems to have influenced every bloody language, maybe there are some others that have a similar word for cannabis too?
Though if I had to hazard a guess it would be British merchants and/or aristocrats coming home from a trip abroad... possibly some time in the Victorian era when Orientalism was all the rage :conf: |

Makes sense... and most likely, neighbouring languages do have words similar to ganja (both in meaning and pronunciation) - not just because of the Sanskrit influence in the area, but because of common origins. |

Charas is a type of hash made by running the hands along ripe marijuana buds still on the plant. The residue builds up in the palms, and then the hands are rubbed together in a circular fashion, creating a small "ball" of hash, charas, out of the THC residue. The process is continued until a sizeable piece of hash is produced...well, that's what I heard, anyway. |

well u cant expect anyone saying yeah i booze , i smoke up hash and snip coke..when ur in such a situation ..and everywhere around u...thers cops..!!
India is very conservative country but not from last many years still..there are conservative families so the youth has to show people as if they are like good cows..!! but they do everything..!! afterall we all are humans and got the same blood..wat matters is...the sourrounding ..!!
