No one knows what will happen for certain. And also to note, the Mayan calendar does not end here. They did not predict that this will be the end of everything, they just predicted a vast change on this day. It's a vague prediction, but given how correct the Mayans were with mathematical calculations, it's safe to say that they're probably correct in their postulation that there will be a direct line from earth to the center of the galaxy on that day. The consequences are anyone's guess. |

That there will be no celestial bodies like planets, stars, or asteroids or anything of the like in between earth and the center of our galaxy (which, naturally, provides the strongest gravitational pull we know of). This means that gravitational pull should increase dramatically, much worse than when there's a full moon. When there's a full moon, gravitational pull is slightly awkward, and you can make a generalized statement that people behave somewhat more odd when there's a full moon. Namely children. I also believe there's more crime when there's a full moon overall. Now take into account a gravitational pull that's going to be much, much stronger than just a full moon. |

In a more simplistic manner, yes. I think that crime might be a slight bit higher. I also think that if the poles were to shift, that would be the optimum date to do it. It's been predicted that the poles have been getting ready to shift for a while, and that date just seems like a logical date for them to finally shift. Or soon thereafter. |
