:haha: If you speak multiple languages then you understand the amazing work the writters did in this movie. ing amazing!

Yep, each nationality and culture was fairly accurately portrayed, which I like. Great film, but I loved The Departed aswell.

Departed was good but I can't help but think they simply ripped off Infernal Affairs, which came out in Hong Kong 2002/3 and added to it, which really takes away from the script and even the directing since some of the shots are copied angle for angle.

Babel didn't impress me all that much, enjoyable film but nothing special. In terms of these multiple storylines eventually converging movies, I thought Traffic and Syrianna were both better.

Blood Diamond was very enjoyable, albeit it depressing to some degree.

Little Miss Sunshine was great but I like dark comedies so maybe thats just me.

But frankly all these comparisons are moot once 300 drops this Friday since it'll just stomp the living crap outta all other movies.

You are correct about the Departed. Its a direct adaptation from that Hong Kong flick.

I grew up watching a lot of Hong Kong / Chinese / Japanese cinema

and An Infernal Affairs was amazing when I first watched it! if you like that series A Better Tomorrow is awesome too!!

The characters in Infernal Affairs was better acted out imo, there was more story too. The way it was put together had more going on than just the chase, but easily understood.

Departed was good, I still enjoyed it but I thought the direction was sequenced similar to how a comic book reads out

something I've heard before if you're going to copy something at least make it better

as for Babel, haven't seen it yet - I will when I get some time though

I haven't seen this yet :( I did however watch a psychodrama-cum-puzzle movie last night called Curiosity Kills the Cat (Haoqi haisi mao). It was ok but having 3-4 different views of the same events has been done way to many times. Watched the work print for More Than Anything In The World (Mas Que A Nada en el Mundo) this past Sunday night. It was pretty funny and reminded me a bit of Pan's Layberth although w/o all the fantasy visuals and in one scene you see the actual green screen! :haha:
Dj Blurr
I kinda thought the same thing.. I thought someone was saying babe was a awsome flick...

haha
