My wireless service is pathetic. I never get my internet problems fixed by a simple call. Often the conversation involves phrases like
"I don't see any problem at my end..."
"Have you paid the bill ? " :whip:
"check back in an hour"
"field technician is looking into it"
"Ok..let's try something else...click on start->run->..."

lol its not terrible. the problem is that they see no reason to upgrade their . they don't have the competition. until verizon really starts penetrating with their FIOS service it will stay that way. its unfortunate but true. they have the capability to give each modem 20Mbits but because they don't need to compete on that level they don't. |

| one thing too. if you ever want anything to happen at a cable company dont call in and get pissed. you wont get anything. everyone will literally give you the "sorry sir your ed 6 ways to sunday" attitude. they know you will more than likely stay cause you dont want equipment on your place or you live in an apartment that doesnt allow satellite because of the equipment. :) |

Bastards. They take advantage. In my town there's only one wireless provider outside of the University campus and their service is pathetic. But they never upgrade their equipments or install more routers. They know we have no choice. So however much you whine at them over the phone, they won't fix your problems. |

I don't think cable is terrible in terms of download/upload speed. That end is fine. I just hate their business model as a company. They're the ONLY cable provider in Southern California, especially now that they've taken over Comcast AND Adelphia in Los Angeles. Los Angeles has how many millions of people living there, and Time Warner has the audacity to increase it's cable rates. Bunch of bull. ing assbags they can lick my ass for all I care. I have DirecTV and it's god damn awesome. I pay 40/month (discount from work FTW!) and come July I'll have over 100 HD channels. Satellite > cable. |

accutally its not a glitch theres a small little filter they put on to only allow a certain channel that the internet comes though on remove the filter and bam full fledged basic cable motha as........ cable internet = :whip:

rofl a bit mis informed. the rates are overall determined by the content providers not the cable company. the company i worked for lost the HSN for 1 ing day cause they wouldnt budge. then when the channel shut down the network said ok. cause they knew they were losing thousands of viewers.
also the reason they dont have multiple companies in each area is because of the way the FCC set it up originally. they pretty much give the company a monopoly. pretty stupid and ridiculous if you ask me.
the HD channels thing is just stupid. the content providers want a ridiculous amount to carry the HD channel on top of the regular channel.
and directv? just get it free! :) i know a few people who do this. and they are very successful and get EVERYTHING including the paperviews. :) |

| haha naa i got annoyed too many idiotic posts so just figured id be an ass and repeat if it had been posted also add now that the reason you just have to phone is if the company had an alarm that went off everytime someones stoped working youd need en earplugs becuase couldnt really tell the differnce between just powering down modem and dropage.... most the time its the persons fault s stoped working... |
