Ya I did. I have one of Tiesto when I was chillin with him in the booth at the time with the old schooler Micro who used to run the lights at 1015 before Marie.
I dont have access to them here cause my work has websense, ill post it tonight if I can find it when I get home. Ya, they look like teenagers, its a trip. |

first experience to edm: used to listen to some euro-dance stuff popular in the 90's from bootlegged cds from the asian garden mall if that counts. but really got into it when... i'll admit it, remember the happy2bhardcore series? yeah, part 3. that was classic.
first rave: first one at that rave at palace park in irvine in 2000. 16 yrs old. i remember hearing better off alone dumonde remix and i was amazed lol. and the jungle room tripped me the f' out. not too long after, went to the good ol masterdome. i think paul-e or thee-o or someone was playing in the main room. ended in a big fight involving asian gangsters and the group i came with. i still remember the lights turning on and the dj announcing "some idiots had to ruin the night for us. why cant we keep the peace love and happiness here." our bad lol
first edm clubbing (21+): ferry corsten in avalon, in march last year. i think. when he had that residency at avalon for a bit. |

Tuned into EDM from collecting music since 84, as a kid growing up, I collected Movie Soundtracks and scores, and listened to Freestyle for a number of years like Stevie B and Buffy.
First Rave Cassette Tape (yes Cassette)given to me was fom Dyloot, a Red Cassette with SKILLS printed on it. If I recall the first track he opened his set with was PVD - For an Angel. |
ok, I'm showing my age as well when I can say my first rave was around I wanna say 92/93. The name of the first one I cant remember but I'll throw out the names of the parties from back then...Toe Jamm and Old MacDonalds Rave are the only ones coming to mind right now.
Do you remember the song that was hardcore-ish with the Sesame Street beat? How about SpeedRacer one? I know the Sesame Street one goes back to atleast the year 92 as that was the year I turned 21(now you do the math).
I had a cassette set(haha) that we bought at some party. One was blue and one was green. Again, my memory has failed as to who it was.
I just totally dated myself but I dont care. I am YOUNG at heart!!:toocool: |

Well, I had been clubbing locally in Savannah, GA starting in 2000ish on the local breaks and house scene...but i really had no idea what any of it was nor was i pursuing it all that much...just something to do on a sat night...lol
BUT... my awakening to the true power of EDM was at an outdoor rave called Sommersafari at Airfield Gross Dolln, outside of Berlin, when I saw PVD for the first time in 2001 on the Out there and Back tour... after that night, I was never the same :crazy: |

OMG!!! Silvia! That was when I got into the scene too. Heck, I still have all those song on my vinyl collection somewhere. Remember DOMINATOR? Poing? Dildo? T99- Anasthesia? Hahaha Those were the good old days. I used to love STREET BEAT Magazine too. They were the s! Oh and URB when it was all about underground raves. Hahaha
Hehehe Heck, now you made me wanna make an old school mix! Hahahaha I have to dust my vinyls, and I might just do it!
