Thanks in adv TA's

Mackies get the job done from my experience. Also look at JBL.

JBL Eon-15 G2.

Get a used pair. They're going for about 1k

I recently got 2 Mackie SA 1521s for $1100 . Those things are massive, They can easily power a small-medium size club and since they are powered all you have to do is connect them to your mixer and you are set to go.

Sounds nice...but even though they are powered...I've experienced powered speakers that dont put out enough bass, so I needed a sub. Are these speakers bassy (if thats a word) enough?

Get this :

Matrix B 52 (sub + 2 speakers, self amped) highly recommended

^ Just saw it and its reviews and it looks incredible! It's $1600 though so that sucks. But, I will see. Thanks for this reccommendation.

B52 makes (or at least they used to) 2 different models of the matrix system, i think the smaller one will fit into your budget.

if it were me, i'd get a pair of mackie SRM450s.

YEa they're is a small package but it totals to 700 Watts and I was really looking to 1000+. Btw, those mackie SRM450s, how are they bass wise? I know they sound crystal clear, according to many, but I'm trying to avoid buying a sub if the powered speakers are expensive.

Make sure you get subs too and not just tops. Unless you're a treble rebel. Oh yea and just a tip folded horns are the way to go. Look em up.

I've played on the 450's, yes they play LOUD and pretty clear, but not a lot of bass response. They also sell the smaller 350's.

I would go checkout the Matrix system. Yes they have 2 versions, the 1000 and the 2000. I've seen the 2000 at Guitar Center, and it's pretty big (physically). I'd recommend checking them out in person :)

Yea I saw the total weight for the whole package is around 260 lbs. But as long as they put out an awesome amount of bass, I'm sold.
