Is the WII gonna get Nintendo back in the game?

I think Nintendo has kind of been falling backwards. I guess they used to be kind of the leaders with the n64 and things before that. I think part of the problem is alot of the good games like grand theft auto aren't compatable with the Nintendo systems which kind of sucks. Who thinks Nintendo is gonna get their act back together and get back in the game?

The N64 was far from a success story.

If anything, the SNES was the last of the consoles that was truly a dominator. And not by that much, surprisingly. The Genesis from Sega was a monumental competitor.

Those days truly were the golden age of gaming.

Otherwise, Nintendo has always dominated the handheld gaming market and I don't see their throne going anywhere for a long while.

As for how the Wii will fair, it's hard to tell. Not even a year has passed since release. Unfortunately, the system is getting a gaming drought (with the exception of the Virtual Console) leading from the end of Spring into the fall. That's just no good!

Ah well.

Don't try to pick fights kid. But honestly, it seems like Nintendo isn't quite as popular as they used to be. I just wish some of the really good games were compatable with the Nintedo systems.

Any step towards greater interactivity in video games is a good step. Way to go Wii :)

I wonder if the next thing Nintendo comes out with will have virtual reality. Or maybe even something you can hook up to the WII. I guess if they came up with that kind of stuff, the gamers would be the best fighters in real life.

As for third party developed games, I'm not sure how many will be released between now and fall (and will turn into hits) but it's definitely no good when your console is getting 4-5 MAJOR titles over a span of 7 months.

If you go on ahead and look at the tentative releases for the PS3 and 360 (two consoles who don't entirely rely on first-party releases, or should I say, make most of their revenue of their own company's titles), you'll see that, for recently released consoles (I'll include the 360 this time around, too, since it's only a year+ old), they're not too bad on quantity of high-potential games.

You're right. Nintendo has lost a lot of fans whether it be to titles, aging, moving over to a console with stronger hardware, etc... It's no surprise that the gaming industry has shifted since the early 90's. It's exciting, though. Can Nintendo end up coming in as the #1 spot after the current generation console wars come to an end?

That's why it's a multi-console kind of world we're living in. Haha.

I've believed the Wii will put them back in #1 since before the damn console came out. They definitely have the potential to do so, but they have to play their cards right.

The biggest problem at the moment is their lack of online. You'd think they'd learn by now but they're still lazy when it comes to it, and the whole "friend code" idea is complete bull.

And Yan, what gaming drought? Nintendo can't make games for every month of the year, but you have EA doing an incredible job (never thought I'd say this) in supporting the Wii.
