You mean actually reading what Tiesto's website told us would be on it?
| quote: | Tiësto: 'With 'Club Nouveau' I can reach a worldwide audience on a weekly basis. For me it's a way to experiment with the variety of styles which dance music has to offer'.
...
Tiësto will present all kinds of genres, from minimal, house and trance, and of course the most exclusive releases in advance. |
Read that, and then look at the tracklist. |

Mm-hmm. Also, stop calling us "haters." I (because I can't speak for anyone other than myself) just think it's pointless to say, "Check out this diverse show!" when in point of fact it's not. I fail to see how that is "hating." |

but they're clearly a departure from boilerplate trance fare, which was the point of the second hour. |

exactly. but for the majority he is pigeonholed as a trance dj.
iceadvanced, err i mean idoru, Tijs didnt write that blog. So how come you blame him for the commentary within it?
Floor - I wish it were as simple as "omg he's playing new genre's" perhaps more to the point that we, older fans, can understand is: he's finally getting back to the broad range of tracks that made him so popular back in 2000-2002.
Its still a fair sight better than 100% concert-styled trance... like a few people were expecting. Hold on a second... did i just find a reason for the blog they posted. OMG! :o |

Thanks for reminding me that yes, I was once a Tijs-whore and I posted on his forums quite often a few years back. I know this and I certainly don't deny it; I am a huge fan of his stuff from a few years back and earlier and I always will be.

It's his website, it's his radio show, it's his career. He has the ability to pull the plug on what's said on his website. He has the ability to affect any sort of advertising done for him. I also imagine that, somewhere down the line, he did indeed say that he would be playing a radio show with a wide variety of EDM. It would surprise me, and I imagine yourself, if he didn't. The whole "concept" of the show is determined by Tijs. |

This is perhaps the worst point of reference i can make... but after some research on Beatport... these records are hardly all defined as trance.

I enjoyed it
It's really not that bad honestly but hopefully he keeps it up
I'll probably keep a better eye on this then I ever have with ASOT because asot can get unbelievably repitive so hopefully we dont hear the same songs every week on Club Noveau
I enjoy the idea of 15 minutes of fame as well |

And since when did Beatport become the master of defining genres of tunes? |
