They did - but they didn't really do anything that hasn't been done/said before, and it really felt like they were just going for the shock value of having a bunch of white characters say "N*gger", which isn't really the problem society has with the word right now - the issue is that black folk bandy it about as often as the word "the" without really thinking what they're saying.

It's easy to talk /discuss any white person using it - but when every rapper that exists is dropping n-bombs in every other rhyme/movie role they're in, they're really just denegrating their own people.

It's just like in Mean Girls where they discuss girls all calling each other bitches and sluts - it just makes it ok for others to call them bitches and sluts, and genuinely diminishes the significance of something really hurtful.

smart comment

in my school girls call each other bitches and sluts all the time, sometimes even between friends.

and the (colored people) from my school call each other the N word. but i remember once, this white guy said the N word to some other guy and this black guy heard him and he's like, what did u just say?? and the kid is like, i said the N word, why u got a problem? and the black guy starts fighting him just for that

I know it's ridiculous how often they use the N bomb.

I kinda hope that Al Sharpton or someone gets mad at them for using it so much in the episode.

That would spice things up!!!!

i'm always afraid that my brother will say the N word and some black guy will beat the living out of him.

nobody should be saying the n word regardless of race. i have never refered to my friends as nigga. there is too much history behind the word to just throw it around as if you "reformed" the word. the excuse "taking it back" means absolutely nothing. the word is the wor, -er and -a. i know what they mean how the word is used differently but ti doesn't matter. how can someone black call another person nigga and not think about what they are saying?

the word just needs to be uttered no longer by ANYONE.

(this is the most puncuation and proper grammar i will ever do on this site again... :o )

"The power which comes from names an naming is related directly to the power to define others- individuals, races, sexes, ethnic groups. Our identities, who and what we are, how others see us, are greatly affected by the names we are called and the words with which we are labeled." -Haig A. Bosmajian

Gothic, punk, thug... these are some common names that define certain stereotypical groups. It is in these groups, it seems, that our society divides itself into in order to maintain a distinct identity. This distinct identity, can be abused however when groups have labels attached to them. For example, labels such as "queer" and "punk trash" have become commonplace for many teens who simply struggle with their own identity.
These labels do not only pertain to our lifestyles but also to our color and gender. Hateful labels such as "******" and "chink" often create an atmosphere that is unfit to live in. Our nation was founded on the idea that we are all created equal, such rights extend to all colors and genders alike. Therefore the presence of such derogatory labels makes minorities, women, and others feel solely discriminated against.

I agree. I think South Park is funny 50% of the time. But there really isn't an excuse why people should constantly drop the 'N' bomb.

go to www.cnn.com and search for the "'South Park' uses n-word 40 times, gets praise " there's a video about the episode.
