| Should I hold off on getting the new windows vista? I've heard that it has alot of problems, but I've also heard it just has afew little kinks that need to be worked out. I've heard some good things about it, and I think I'd like the better graphics, but I don't want anything that's too faulty. |

Microsoft themselves mention "Windows 2000, XP or better" as a system requirement, so I think it should work. Haven't tried it myself though.
As for Vista, I won't upgrade to it until SP1 is available (later this year afaik), which is a pretty common 'best practice' for most Microsoft-related upgrades. Oh, and I need a better PC as well :clown: |

hi guys,
i work for microsoft, to get what vista is all about you need a powerful machine, on 1gig memory and a sub par graphics card, it was ok. nothing special. but try it on s core 2 due with 2 gig ram and aa good graphics card and watch the preformance. amazing what vista can do. XP doesnt do it for me anymore now. and no not because i work for microsoft. |

No offense, but isn't that a pretty argument?
"Oh yeah, Windows Vista shows excellent performance on a top of the line PC".
I'm pretty sure the performance of my Windows 2000 installation will vastly improve on a better PC as well. Doesn't make it a better OS. |

I have a question for all of you who do not like Vista. What exactly dont you live about it, and what is wrong with it?
I just want to get peoples opinions. |

| The number one problem with vista based on my experience, since I sell laptops with Vista everyday is that most people tell me that alot of their older programs dont work with Vista and there are no available patches for them.Another problem is that alot of people simply dont know how to use it yet. |
