Hey Guys/Gals
I have just finished my first ever trance track, "Corda". I'm pretty much new to production so be gental! :)
The track is based on the more oldskool/euphoric sound of trance. I used Reason 3.0 for the whole track, I'm still trying to get used to all the technical bits and bobs on it!
Anyway, tell me what you think...

I liked the gentle pads...and the melodies aren't bad either...you need a bit more movement, but you'll get the hang of it, I guess.
Anyway what you definitely should do, is trying to find out how to use a maximizer on your master. Because this sounded so quiet...
and I don't want to crank my amp too much you know...
nice melodies, the production needs a lot of work though...the balance of the kick and bass is not clear and the whole piece gets sometimes a bit muddy...
otherwise good job on the melodies, the pads and the structure...thumbs up for that
oh...and it sounded like you're using reverb on your bass...that's not good, makes the mix muddy...don't use much reverb on lower basslines and kick :)
you have the feel, now you need to practise :)

Thanks for the feedback Booster. :)
I still have the rns file saved, so I'll have a tweak in Reason and see if I can sort the bass vs drum levels.
Also, yes I did use reverb on the bass, but I didn't realise it made the mix 'confusing' until just now, thanks for pointing that out.
I'm working on another track at the moment, so hopefully that'll be an improvement!
One other thing, I know it is a matter of preference. But which would you say is more beneficial: Reason 3.0 or a program such as fruity with some VSTs?
