What Is Trance to you?

| Well im sure we all have our own opinions about the genre, but to some this music is much more, and i was just curious to see what other people think of this genre, cuase my opinion is simple, but complicated to explain, the best way i can put it into words is a never ending journy that is in ones self with new possibiltys every secound, and not looking what is in front of you, but beyond what you see |

| Eh, it's nostalgic to me, since it's what I started out with. I've since moved on to other things. It's fun to switch back to trance for a bit when I want something fun and melodic though. |

| A genre that used to be somewhat true to itself but as the years passed, fell into the hole of full of genres. |

Trance to me, is music that puts you in a world were nothing matters but the sound.
I find that older trance songs seem to do this quite well like:

trance music (imo)
a) is atmospheric
b) it lets you delve into the layers of the music
c) not very abrasive to the ears (this can get tricky with the hard trance genre, which i think that hard trance sholdn't be a genre...subjective)
d) involves brain patterns (complicated psychological stuff...too much to talk about)
e) a more spiritual /thought provoking genre
it's hard to explain... |
