Looking for a good filter plug in

I already ran a search on this topic and didn't find what I needed.

I've always just used the BP, LP, HP filters through the VST I was using or the plug in that comes with Cubase but found them to be a bit lacking. I already have filters like the PSP Nitro for the more out there sounds. I'm looking for a really top notch yet simple filter plug in. Any suggestions?

What precisely is lacking, either in Tonic or in the previous threads?

even better than the Tone2 Bifilter is its big brother...I swear by this filter...its called the Tone2 Filterbank2 and it its absolutely amazing..it has a very good gui and and a good modulation matrix...most of all its easy to use and sounds freaking sweet. It also has some delay fx on board which isn't to shabby.

I really don't like bfilter. It sounds thin in most cases and I find it's character to be plain boring. :(

Have you tried CamelPhat? I find the filters and band pass option really useful and has a great sound.

Kjaerhus Classic Auto-Filter and BetabugsAudio Crayon Filter are both free filters that I use and have got pretty good results out of. You can easily find them at their respective websites.

Wait a minute. You are asking for an awesome filter plugin and you already have PSP Nitro (an awesome filter plugin)?

What da fuc?

EDIT: Just to clarify, you can use PSP Nitro as a simple no nonsense filter by closing down all operators except op1 and selecting whichever filter type you want. Then in the pin matrix route the entire signal straight through op1 and route op1 straight to the output.

Easy.

check out the sonalksis tbk. it doesn't really get any simpler than that, and it has a nice sound too.
