Hopefully this is an easy one.
I saw a video on Charter Cable's OnDemand Electronica hits compilation. Since then they've taken that collection down I think.
It's an energizing, upbeat, euro-dancy song with a single male vocalist that repeats "love, love, love" a lot. Don't remember if he says "I need love... give me love...I'm in..." or what. Since it was big enough for a video and "hit" status, I hope someone on here can help because no search is bringing up any results.

Is it "Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)" by BT
It could be the Mark Norman remix because I know they used samples of BT's "love, love, love" part when he sings.
But thats my best guess. |

You nailed it. It sounded a lot less effects heavy when I first heard it... wonder if I've got a different version or if the sound quality is just better now. Couldn't find a Mark Norman remix to compare.
Just rediscovering my electronica interests, so any input on similar artist I've missed would be appreciated. You've probly already heard it, but if you've got similar tastes you'd like Origa/Yoko Kanno- Inner Universe. |

Yes! Just IDed my first song.
Well if you wanna hear the Mark Norman remix here's a cheesy video I found of the music in the background.

And yes I know who Yoko Kanno is, I watch Cowboy Bebop and she does all the music to it.
If you wanna find new stuff...well then I advise going to www.audiojelly.com and just browsing around on the trance section. |

I think it was just the heightened clarity on my Sennheiser headphones. They bring out any little imperfection or in this case, shine a spotlight on the effects to a distracting degree. I played the song through my stereo and it sounded like what I heard before. The guy has a great voice and I'd rather hear him sing than electronic burping ;) even though that stutter is his signature thing.
Cowboy Bebop is well done in a lot of respects. I was lucky enough to catch the Bebop movie in a theatre and the trippy golden butterflies of death were incredible on the big screen.
I haven't really gotten into Stand Alone, but the original Ghos is one of my favorite anime films.
I'll definitely check out the site you mentioned. Like I said, kind of rediscovering my interests in the genre. Found some good Information Society stuff yesterday that I hadn't heard in forever. Then I lucked across some ELP for a little moog goodness. If you like synth, that guys a legend. Allmusic.com is good for finding artists by genre that you might have missed.
If anyone I absolutely shouldn't miss comes to mind, my email is [email protected]. |
