So what the hell happened to acid house?

Beatport removed this genre 6 months to a year ago, and I'm wondering what happened to all those records - did they just move them into house, tech house, minimal, and electro house sections? Why would they just do away with the entire genre?
Did I miss something - was acid house officially declared "over?"

| They probably moved them into something else. Alot of acid stuff under techno and tech house, maybe that's where it went. Probably just some restructuring that's all. |
