i'm always hesitant to mention at work that i DJ, because around here people assume one of two things:

1) you're a wedding DJ
2) you're a glowstick wielding, candy eating, furry backpack wearing raver kid

i used to have a coworker from Venezuela and he was cool with EDM so we used to talk about it and trade mixes/CDs... and a few other cool people know, but for the most part i keep it to myself.

most co-workers assumed i was a scratch dj.

i work in a very family-focused company. everyone is much older (35+) with a family. there is maybe 2 single people at work. it can't be the norm.

i never mix business with pleasure, not even socially

entertaining clients at a game at Madison Sq Garden ok, but hanging out with co-workers at bars, lounges, or events are a no-no for me. Not because I'm anti-social but I'd rather not let my party character tarnish my work ethic and accomplishments.

i like money more then going to happy hour

Yeah I get those both all the time :stongue:

The worst is when someone asks me about drugs and I accidentally laugh :nervous:

i was a little reluctant when my boss asked me a few weeks ago if i go to WMC. lol but i was like ahh screw it, so i told him yea. i'm a pretty hard worker here and they love me so i don't think they'll think anything by knowing that i'm into that music and scene. if i was always calling in sick or something, they'd know right away i'm a crackhead. lol but i'm very professional and all that around here, so i'm sure they don't think anything.

my boss is hooking it up with tickets to the shelborne party with danny tenaglia and chus & ceballos now. that's why he was asking me. he's friends w/ the owner of that hotel and was like, "yea just let me know how many you need and what party you want to go to and i'll call him". i was like SWEET! glad i wasn't scared to admit i go to wmc parties.
