Now this is a nice way to actually bring some more life into your music. Now don't expect it'll sound right allways, but from time to time it will generate a nice feeling + spice up your track never so little.

* Start by selecting the empty template

* Next you load your fav plugin, set it's out port to 0 and select a nice patch of your choice.

* Now create 4 MIDI Out plugins + create 2 Sampler channels (3 if you have deleted the standard sampler included in the empty template.

* Now create 2 layer channels. Starting with the first: Select all the MIDI out + one sampler channel and click "Set as child". Next layer, select 1 MIDI Out + all 3 samplers. Click on "Set as child". Don't forget to tick the random boxes in both Layers

* Now it's the time to prioritize the notes in your melody. The primary notes should allways be played by the plugin itself. Primary notes are notes that marks the pulse of the melody. Driving notes is these that force the melody forward, and Ornament notes are just for decoration.

* Start to write your melody in the plugin. When done copy the driving + ornament notes to the first layer channel's piano roll. Layer 1 will play the notes on an 80% chance. When done copy the ornament notes to the second layer. The second layer will play the notes on a 25% chance.

Press play on tape, and what do we hear? A much more living breathing melody that has some human intuittion in it!

One thing tho. You cannot layer layer channels.

Was this too much mindboggling? Then [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
is an example mp3 + zipped fruityloops file. You need Vanguard but you can replace it with whatever plugin you like.

Have fun!

So the zip file is where?

probably one proper designed patch would do more than layering some annoying ones..

The thing is that it uses one patch just for demonstration. You decide what patch to use.

Sorry... the contrast issues on my laptop made it hard to see.

Anywho... it's interesting and creative, but I'd rather make my own melodies.
