"Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 4,667,609 people from around the globe.
From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business.
You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow residents. Because residents retain the rights to their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other residents.
The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the in-world unit-of-trade, the Linden dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden Dollar exchanges."

and the nightclubs you can visit are pretty cool too, with live djs, and crowds! |

I have been on there for about 6 weeks now , hard to earn money , learning curve is high for complex stuff but the basics can be handled in minutes, world is huge , lots of cool places , I have made a few good friends , every girl makes thier avatar drop dead gorgeous. It requires a fairly good computer to render the world otherwise its slightly choppy.
this would be a cool place for a T/A hangout

| Creeps me right out. It's the ultimate hybrid of chat rooms and MMORPGs, a place where people can suck away endless hours pretending to be someone else and forgetting that they have first lives. No thanks. |

Yeah, I like the Internet, but not that much. This is just downright creepy. They even ing call it "second life". That's what kind of scares me. They don't event ry to hide the fact that this will be your second, other life, away from reality. Like WTF? |
