started my first track

the first track i've started that i actually like the sound of

i am likely to need lots of help tho as i dont understand synths at all very well... i just tend to fiddle with the buttons until i like the sound lol

the sample is just from the main part of the track, i havent actually bothered sequencing he diff samples proply yet which i will do when i post an update

comments & constructive criticism much appreciated

Well, it's 6 AM here in the states, but i'll try and help you out.

Your samples aren't all too great. I'm not sure if your synths are drowning out your percussions, but they are too soft.

Your track is lacking lows. Your bassline has the highs, maybe even too much for my tatste, but it needs to be layered with something low. Maybe you can get rid of it all together. For low basslines, I leave my filter env. partially open and my master filter for the synth partially open too. I open my filter env's decay up 25% or so. After that, I cut some frequencies to my liking.

You might not have understood that, so you need to read some stuff on synth programming. I know reading is boring, but it's well worth the effort.

thanks for ur reply... will look into it :) - i guess google would be a good place to start. are there any good eBooks regarding this, that are preferably free? lol
