Review: Jon Jon and Con Con @ Hotel

Can't believe no-one has started one already! I bet they're all still partying.
Now, I can't comment on anything past 1am as I had to go home to pack (which I still haven't finished).
Got there at about 10.45 and Jon was already well into it - all the usual suspects were there and it ws lovely to see everyone one last time before my trip.
We all lovingly make fun of Jon's diva-esque style and last night was no exception but he had a tarpaulin of deep and dirty beats that he threw over - the place was rockin' and he looked so natural up there!
I loved his track selection, didn't stop ass-shakin' for the whole 2 hours I was there. He is a real crowd-pleaser too, so many smiles!

I was there for only a short while but had some awesome fists in the air moments!!! Great track selection once you warmed the crowd up, Jon! THANK YOU! :)
Also sooooooooooooo nice to see my beloved TOTAs!!! You guys are my ecstasy. ;) |

Wow Wow Wow is all I have to say......I loved Jon Jon's set, I seriously could not stop moving, had a funky mid-late ninties feel to it. Track selection was perfect and I didnt leave the dance floor at all no matter how sweaty and hot it got.
Tons of TA's there and good to see everyone out and about and loving every minute of it. Good meeting all the new faces and looking forward to seeing some of you Sat. Thanks to all that made last night killer. Knox, how was partying on a school night, heaven forbid lol.
Thanks again Rachel for a lovely dinner before hand and your hospitality. Have a lovely trip we will be missing you Sat. I will pound thr floor for you
Even though I am not the biggest fan of the venue last night was probably my best night at Hotel.

Well done Jon, your set did a great job of literally building up from an empty room when we were first in the door, to late nineties stardust style magic at the end.
I sense this being the first of multiple hotel gigs.
I also can tell that you've been practicing your dj moves at home.
I particularly like the hands in the air with inquisitive face followed by beat drop, hand woosh across body and head shake in disgust.

Jon, very well thought out track selection, so many good ones! The best being my Seal tune in which I yelled at the top of my lungs. Your set was seamless, and energetic even when just warming up. Like I told you, it was not what I expected. The touch of tribal, electro, and good ol bangin house were perfect together. You were fabulous and you had the place going nuts, congrats.
Ps. im still very drunk and will have to eleborate and clarify most of this after work :crazy: |

Thursdays used to be the best nights to go out and from what I can tell they still are. I just wish I could make it out more often.
Jon congrats again babe. Your set was perfect, the crowd was loving it and from I could tell you were to :)
I've said it before but I will say it again, you have the best crowd interaction. I love how into it you get.
Wish I could have stayed later to listen to Joee Cons set, I have always been a fan, but unfortunately had to be at work this morning.

I know babe, I did come to say goodbye but you were engrossed and your crazy fans had you surrounded. I am surprised you didn't feel my energy in the room ;) it was defintitely there!

After a less than stellar first outing at Hotel, I had mixed feelings going in last night.
To be honest, I'm still not totally sold on the venue...it's a pretty cool place but there's still something not sitting well with me. The sound is good, but it gets hot - FAST...and squuezing past the bar onto the wee dance floor is kind of a pain, but enough bitching - let's get to the f*cking point, shall we?
JonJon, when I got there you had things fully in control and you didn't let up. Track selection was ace. Flow was ace. Crowd? Come on, who doesn't love seeeing all the TOTAs out in force?
I had a really great night and regret only that it was Thursday, so I had to leave early because of work today (I was still late...).
Well done, see you at the next one, I'm sure.
Now I'm going to go put 'ace' on the 'what's your favourite word?' thread. Wish me luck. |
