whats the difference between progressive, and uplifting trance? can somebody tell me a tight track from each kind that will distinguish the difference?
TeKnoHe@d2025
Progressive- James Holden "I Have Put Out the Light" (I don't like progressive but Holden is great)

Uplifting- Try Matt Darey :)
Dmatrox
yeah...

Progressive: Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Max Graham, etc..

Uplifting Trance: Push, Airscape, Rank1-Airwave, Coast to Coast etc.
Hell_Copter
for uplifting trance try Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten
they are the best!!!!
Armin - Communication
Ferry - exhale, out of the blue
awesome tracks!!!
DuMonde TrAnCeR
depends wether you mean progressive house or progressive trance...

digweed sasha etc are prog house. holden (kinda) tiesto (more often than not) is prog-trance. there is a difference. and steve lawler is tribal house isnt he?
King of Clubs
Its a bit hard to describe, but Id say that uplifting is tracks which builds up to a climax, while progressive often has the same beat going in circles, but never reach a real climax.. I cant really explain it, but you do hear the difference..

Good prog:
Sasha - Xpander
Roland Klinkenberg - Inner Laugh (Mark Shimmon vs 3rd degree Remix)
Delerium - Silence (Sanctuary remix)
Max Graham - Sepia (Or any Max Graham track for that matter)

And as TeKnoHe@d2025 says: James Holden

This forum is full of recomendations for uplifting since that is what everyone listens to mostly...
