+1 most of the time when I'm trying to mix flawlessly I've realised I was only doing it for myself. :p |

| just got back from the gig and it was a blast. played for an hour and i did pretty well. i met the owner who told me he wants me back in may-july. pretty exited about being wanted back. only downside was the mixer which i wasnt used to. it was a Rane which doesnt let me listen to both channels at once which is how i mix. but i just cranked the booth monitor up and that did the trick. thanks to all who gave their imput!!! |

| You used the master/cue blend knob? Damn, I hate Rane's ... I'm not used to them either. |

Rane rotaries don't have that.
And if it's their first model, you can't even cue two things at once in the headphones (they have a knob to select which channel is cue'd in the phones).
This is why you REALLY need to learn to mix using monitors.
