this is normally one of my favourite days of the year, considering myself and my gf are both irish, but this will be the first year in a long time that i won't be spending st patricks day in a pub. maybe the docks will serve green beer tonight...

Some pure irish for you all:

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

probably because North Americans are VERY lazy about pronouncing their 'T's and they just decided to spell it that way too. *shrug*

thats my name, and i still don't get it. up until college, i was always referred to as "Paddy", spelt with "d's". Patty or Pattie is the spelling for a girls name. when i went to college, i was sick of being called Paddy, so i changed it to Patrick.

Man, Ireland just advanced to the next round of the Cricket World Cup and sent Pakistan home, on St. Paddy's day. It's their first time in the World Cup and that's quite an achievement.
