After recieving the sad news about Booka Shade...I was left with the decision...
FW or TiL...
Both venues were showcasing very good DJs last night in my opinion...but I guess my decision was based on dance floor space between the two events (honestly, I was in no mood last night to deal with overcrowdedness and the resulting "pushiness" that comes with it)...
so FW it was for me...
I got there around 10:30ish and place was pretty empty. Because coming to FW was a last minute decision and wasn't on the reduced list, I thought I was going to pay the regular. But a kind bouncer...I mean...soul hooked me up :D
Carlo Lio started up with a good opening set...a mixed bag of intense prog, and tech house that got me going. People who arriving were feeling his set as well. It would be interesting to hear him end the night at FW...hopefully sometime in the future. A well done set, overall...
More killer tunes followed from De-koze :D...To sum up his set, he basically had me "climbing the walls", and "working it..." Predominately a tribal house set, he threw in some funky electro house tracks <3...a very energetic and fun set for the most part... :)
Syd Blu -- she brought on the dirty, prog and electro house beats...it was so dirty that I felt like "ing someone on the dance floor..." bahahaha...and some drunken loser (won't mention any names) got effin' emo on me during some track she played...:p At this point...the place was going nuts (however I didn't appreciate an individual who kept screaming like a pregnant women in labour every freakin' ten seconds).
I thought I was going to call it a night until the Vinyl Junkies came on the decks. Their versatile set of minimal techno, tech, prog, and electro house convinced me to stay it out to closing...:D :D Thanks Val for the "Lollipop"...tuneeeeee of the night for me...my brain tickled! Vince...somewhere in your set it got so dark it was just plain evil...<3
By then my body was destroyed and had to sit it out and just enjoy the music. But honestly it was a perfect way to end the evening (I mean morning....haha) :) Good job guys :)
Back to reality and back to studying...
good tunes + good people (mr. ace...I love your surprise appearances) and vibe (random smiling faces everywhere) = wicked friday night + tired but happy jax :) |

FW is my favourite place to see the boys play honestly. Although, I haven't been out in awhile. Everytime is a great time imo.
Glad you had a great night Jax. I am sure you partied for 2 right? ;) |
