I'm thinking of going this year.

Got any ideas for good accomodation, viewing spots, are the grandstand seats worth it? How hard is it to get there (I have no car)?

No, but I do want to someday.

Are you talking about the Goodwood Revival at the circuit, or the Festival of Speed hillclimb at Lord March's estate?

I would pick the hillclimb personally. More cars on display, rally stages in the forest, and it might be cheaper.

I don't think there's much in the way of accomodation nearby so you'll likely need to find a shuttlebus or rent a car.

Whatever you manage to work out, please let me know via PM since I would be quite interested in going myself.

Festival of Speed at Goodwood House. Not the revival

Nice, so the hillclimb.

They've had so many awesome & rare rides run up that hill.

I still remember when Mike Gascoyne stuffed the Bennetton F1 car into the haybales right off the start line.

Can get a train down to West Sussex from London, about 60km or so, don't know how much it would cost or how you'd get out there to the site, might be worth seeing if there is buses to it.
Aside from that the hotels are probably going to be booked out well in advance, B&B might be the next best bet, certainly a fair bit cheaper usually. Other option might be to hire a campervan and just drive down there and find a place to park it, don't know if they'd let you stay onsite.

yeah, had a quick look and it seems I can get a train from London Victoria Station (no idea where that is in London) to Chichester (the closest town) and then they run shuttle buses from the Chichester station to Goodwood House.

Tough part is trying to find a room in Chichester:(

Just for an update, for the hot tip on accomodation:

University of Chichester rents out their student accommodation during June-September. 30 pounds a night including breakfast, its in the centre of town, and its pretty much the only place that has a room left available 2 weeks after the dates for FoS were announced:wtf:
