ok so after playing my first club gig i got to play on CDJ 1000's and a Rane mixer. never have i played on either of them. at home i have a pair of CDJ 200s and my question is this.....

on my CDJ 200s i can press the cue button, hold it down and the song plays from the que point till you let go, or till i press play(while still holding down the cue button) and itll just keep playing the track. do 1000's not have this feature or do you have to go about it another way?

thanks in advance

Yea, they go back after to the cue spot after you've let go of "cue", I've never tried the other method on mine :)

It would only take just a couple of seconds for you to test out while cueing a tune that night. ;)

no cdj mk1/mk2 do not have this. Not sure about mk3?
It was added onto the cdj200 which was released after.

ive seen djs up close on the 1000mk3 and the holding cue/pressing play thing looks just like my 800mk2s, and i know the 200s cue/play system is the same as the 800mk2 so...

how does it work on the older CDJs then? surely letting go of cue and quickly hitting play is a bit hit and miss?

The mk3's do have this, the mk2's and the mk1's do not.

Yeah, you basically have to tap em both at the same time. It took some getting used to after learning on my 800 mk2s.

I never hold the cue button while mixing. I just use it to set a cue point and return to that cue point while beatmatching, setting a loop, etc.

All you need to do to play a track is press the play button. I can see why one might want to hold the cue button and press play to have it continue playing, but not having the ability to do that isn't a big loss in my opinion.

yeah i don't really use the cue button that much anyways except for setting cues and then tapping and holding for short bits when i get excited or bored before i drop it in with the play button :p

its not a big deal like people have said although i also noticed it the first time i played on 1000's.
