whats your human rights paper on? im a human rights fanatic..

It'll be on why are human rights not enforced by UN.

The easiest answer to that being UN has no teeth (ie military, political, economical force) to make the violators pay.

It'll also mean going into basic structure of how UN works (meaning, nations work in concert with each other lends weight to UN resolutions, not the UN itself). Also concept of national sovereignty triumphing all other concerns generally in international diplomacy. (ie Darfur)

And how each nations and regions have their own human rights charter and it's up to each nation to decide how they are going to enforce human rights.

Therefore the concept of universal human rights, at least the way UN envisions it and tries to enforce might as well not be there, except as a tease to the world and people who's human rights are being violated.
Nobody likes a tease anyways :p

Man, I remember reading Heidigger for phil classes and I'm like, this is BORING!

Why must all German philosophers be either boring or depressing?

lol. I still gotta write it.
This inadequacy of UN to protect universal human rights is one of the main reasons why I don't believe in UN anymore. (ie failure to do anything about Darfur) And why universal human rights argument is bunk when used to say stuff like humans have a right to live, etc, in practical terms.
