Sullivan Room wins Nightstalker Award 2007

For you guys that don't know yet, New York's own Sullivan Room won the Nightstalker Award last night @ the Clubworld Awards.
Congrats Sully!

People vote for the best venue.
Venues are nominated and people vote online. This years nominees were Rise in Boston, The End Up in San Francisco, Stereo in Montreal and Sully. Smart Bar from Chicago won last year, but this year it went in a different category (Best Club- which they won, over Cielo :o). Last year Sully came in 3rd and the title came back home. ;)

| It's called the nightstalker award because it's chosen by "nightstalkers", the clubbers themselves. |

Stereo is a known name and would fall into the best club category, Sully is an underground unknown place outside of the NY club goers. |

Yup...not to mention Stereo has really fallen off in the past year. Sully consistently brings in some of the best underground talent in the world and would probally beat stereo in best club too.:D |

not imo. Not hating on sully by any means because I have enjoyed myself there, I just dont think the two are comparable at all....shouldn't be in the same catergory. |

You are definitely right. They shouldn't be in the same category at all, Stereo should be in the Best Club category, a "Club", IMO, to be considered such should bring a crowd without necessarily being the "nightstalkers" choice. A club like Stereo is for the masses, Sully is not.
And Vlad, believe it or not, Sullivan Room is very well regarded in England in the underground. |
