Richard Durand remixes

I find that of recently Durand's remix work has really been impressing me, they seem to worm their way into my sets someway or the other! Think he really has been spot on for the last couple months!
But my question is, how different is Richard Durand's remix agenda different from Sean Tyas. Yes, Durand's production I feel really trumps Tyas, but they both seem to have a penchant for updating classics in their own way, although of course, I don't really seem to be into the whole "Sean Tyas 2007 Harder Kick Rework" thing thats going on! Any thoughts? |

According to Sean Tyas' website, that one is a fake... Not made by him: Quote from his site:
"FAKES
As the Rush Comes (Sean Tyas hard kick rework) - what the , are you kidding me.. Why would anyone need a rework of this after Armin gave an amazing remix?"

@ Topic...
Well, I haven't heard much from Richard Durand yet (plus there aren't many Richard Durand remixes compared to the number of Sean Tyas' Remixes)...
However, I like his remixes of the two Tiesto songs... |

Yeah, I was, coz that seems to be Sean Tyas modus operandi at the moment! When in doubt, use the harder kick, and slap it out in 320kbps as the rework!
With regards to Richard Durand, apart from the amazing "Sunhump", he has done new mixes of Way Out West's classic "The Fall", Tiesto's "Lethal Industry" and "Flight 643" as well Niels van Gogh's infamous "Pulverturm", along with some others. Obviously, I think there's a pattern here, but the sound Durand is going for is much easier on the ears than Tyas' "reworks"... |

| Yeah, I heard about the Prodigy one, haven't actually heard it though. So, I'm not the only one who sees this pseudo classic revival thingy... |

Obviously nowadays you just need to remix or remake old tracks, no one wants you to remix/remake, in order to get recognition
So far, i don't like his stuff. |

| His remix of Way Out West - Fall is maybe the worst remix i've ever heard. |

he's hit & miss. his version of the fall was pretty weak & i never really saw the fuss with sunhump, but the tiesto updates were both quality, completely keeping the feel of the respective originals & putting new twists on them. slipping away was awesome too
i was hoping the fad would be short lived, but the fact he's resorting to SMBU & born slippy doesn't look too promising ;/
still at least he scores points on tyas by his remixes not all sounding the same |
