Well still alot of people do the drugs regardless of it being legal or not. So legalization wouldn't increase or decrease the amount of it being used by users. It will only control and standardlize the substance. Thus it will be safer for users since they know what they're getting.

that's rubbish. you're saying there has never been a time when you were looking but couldn't find? moreover the amount of people who would go after it because it was mainstreem and 'not illegal', who don't now would be huge. case and point - mormons don't drink because it's wrong, make it not wrong and they'd drink as much as any other american.
i agree with your conclusion though |

dangerous includes you being a danger to others around you not just what the drug does to your body |

We're not arguing hypocrisy. We're arguing whether dangerous illegal substances should be legalized because more dangerous legal substances exist.
The answer is no - we should not be legalizing things that are dangerous regardless of what "more dangerous" legal things already are available. |
is it not "more dangerous" to continue allowing Joe Blow to manufacture mdma in his garage?
I think if it was legalized it would prevent alot of people being harmed as a result of consuming god-knows-what chemicals produced by wannabe chemists. |

Its true.
I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who don't do any drugs because of the legality of the issue. There are many uniformed people out there and if they see that drugs are illegal, they probably won't try them.
Once they do become legalized, I am sure that a large portion of individuals who have never tried the drug, would atleast give it a try and see what it's all about. With it being legalized, the average person would believe that there is no "harm" involved.

I imagine that legalization would reduce the amount of suppliers as the guvernment would probably supply the drug at a lower cost and drastically reducing the profits and amount of clients.
I would buy from Guvernment rather than some random in a club.
Does anyone know what happened during the periods of prohibition? Were there a lot of people making their own spirits and beer in their basement?
All I know is that Homer Simpson did...and I would rather buy the product straight from the Guvernment rather than another Homer Simpson... |

If thats the case, then all the drug companies will be in heaven! Just think how much money they could make on mass producing little ecstasy pills for the public in a variety of colours.
I'm surprised the Guvernment and Drug companies haven't already discussed this amongst themselves. |

Research on the Netherlands has demonstrated that a significant increase in the number of individuals using cannabis did not occur following the country's decision to no longer prosecute for possession of the substance. |

Not doing something because its illegal doesn't mean you are uninformed. |

what I meant is they will not make a decision on their own, regardless of its drugs or anything else. They will go by what the government and authorities tell them and not make their own rational conclusion. |
