"I made a little composition here using ableton live, 3 midi controllers and the Rodec scratchbox. The EFX inserts of the Rodec scratch mixer enables me to use ableton as an efx unit, drum machine and loop station."
How is this working? Is he using his laptop as an efx machine and loop without delay in the sound? What kind of buffer settings do you need to pull this off? Not to mention he samples live from his TTs.
I tried a friends copy of ableton out and there was some delay if you lined the music through the comp and then out.
Also, will any mixer with an efx loop allow you to do this? Sorry for the lack of understanding if this is nothing all to extraordinary for ableton to accomplish.
[edit] it occurred to me that he was using the efx in as an extra input
to on of the channels from his laptop. Sound right? |
