I don't have whatever wacky fonts installed to read the output of that page!

Till then on general principle I must refuse to believe that Lira has come to my language rescue for the millionth time!

And why have a sign that reads "Corner"?

I don't know what "a corner (on goods)" means in English... and it's also out of context, so I don't know their reasons either :p

I'm using Firefox, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to install the "suport for east asian languages" in windows to see these...

Wait... why did you add "on goods" ?

Because I've just looked it up again and the whole entry says "a corner (on goods)", because simply "corner" seems to be a shorter word.

Would it make sense if it meant "news stand"? That word seems to be the "stand" in "news stand"

신문 매점 (shinmoon meh-jum) -> shinmun means "newspaper", so "매점" stands for... "stand" :p

I'll leave it at that for now until I can install the east asian language pack (my windows CD is missing at the moment).

Thanks for your help

Reminds me of the first time my sister heard the word "Korean" in her life. "Colour" in Portuguese is "Cor". When we were in São Paulo, we heard some people speaking Korean, and my sister happily claimed:

Her: "Look, they're speaking Japanese"
Me: "No, they're Koreans"
Her: "Koreans? What's a Korean?"
Me: (sarcastic) "Colourful people"
Her: "But, but... they're beige"
