2) Ferry Corsten's set: Waaaay too commercial... who plays like 10 anthems??? that dont do it for me...

ummm... did he keep you dancing? jeez, everyone's a critic. i don't see DJ Tek sets from Trance Energy all over the internet and i dont heard DJ Tek coming out of everyone's mouth. i don'thave any DJ Tek productions on my computer. so stop complaining until you can do one of those three things and enjoy the ing music. ;)

maybe, but there is a reason. its because the "commercial" songs he spins are good, and because they are good that causes many people to like them resulting in them being commercial. maybe if everyone listens to the underground progressive stuff you probably listen to they will become commercial in the future as well. why does everyone hate exit? haha...

ok look im a hardcore Ferry Corsten fan, and i heard many of his live sets and love his style... it was finally his nyc debut and my expectation was high...i mean he played a good set, but it was way too commercial stuff to be honest.. nothing wrong with commercial but Corsten was banging anthems left and right.. just look at the traclkist... lethal indusrty, tenshi, out of the blue, exhale, dance valley theme 2001, and he played carte blanche in most of the venues he came to recently, so i knew that one was comin... overall i was expecting a set that had more flow, like PvD @ SF now that was 6+hrs of pure satisfaction.. bottom line i prefer Ferry's trance over PvD's but comparing his set to PvD's @ SF? no en question, PvD owns!(One of the best djs to hear live)disagree? i dont think so...

so what if it's his first time in NYC?? that doesnt mean he has to play a commercial driven set... the only good set that Tiesto played in NYC was his debut, which was 3\9\01, and the ONLY "commercial" joint he plyed was Airhead - Stanley and the ppl went nuts... i dont know maybe cuz i respect Ferry Corsten's dj skills more than Tiesto's thats why im a bit disappointed... and the crowd? it was the same exact as Tiesto nights(or any other exit nights), just way less...sorry but i never get good vibes from exit.. ppl just dont have any respect.whatevers.. im thru with exit. peace

Did Ferry play Autumn Tactics?

The same reason Paul always plays For an Angel, Ferry plays out of the blue or Carte Blanche. They are classics plus they are his productions. It's only normal to expect a DJ to play his own tunes.

Exit isnt bad at all if you go with people who go there for the music/same reason as you and not with people who go there to do drugs, make a circle and sit on the floor...i had a great time friday

I'm not disagreeing with you about PVD being one of the best DJ's ... but come on dude he played A LOT of anthems as well.

Not a good way to make your point ....

on a totally different note:

We all said that FC was awesome etc. but no-one ever mentioned why. So I decided to post a little story (sit back, relax):

when I first got into the club, I must say i was overwhelmed with the size. It is freaking huge compared to most places i have been to.
The musik, initally wasn't the best stuff i had ever heard, but i was thoroughly frozen, so i needed to warm up and relax a little, so i added some H2O to my system (needed the bottle for later anyhow) and started chilling a bit.

Soon after I had refilled my bottle twice, I was feeling much better and the music appeared more appealing :)

The suddenly, I leaned over to enigmaT, 'cause I was wondering, if I was really hearing 'Trancesetters - The Saga', when i noticed the beloved vocals 'The m0therf0cking saga continues...' :D That was it! I was gone.. :)

soon after i started sweating -and was finally awake again- with The Saga, I felt another familiar beat coming up: Massive. I went even crazier, since I love this tune...

the night went on and on with some cool beats and some more relaxed stuff in between so that i could take a breather :)

somewhere in the 4-5 am hour, i met another guy I remembered from the PvD show, and he showed off his skillz with 'Punk'... another song I loved.

At about 6 am, after walking around a little, I was returning from the bathroom and started feeling a little tired -been up almost 24 hrs by then- and knew that I needed something 'pumpin' to get my heartrate back up and me going -and awake- again..

Then suddenly, apparently out of nowhere, I heard a set of beats, i had not heard in quite some time. I thought -it cannot be- that beat, those synths.. but yes it was 'Veracocha - Carte Blanche' I went insane.. he did some nice slowing down at the right spots and just waited for the crowd to want the reprise.. w0w.. he must have read my mind, for I was back on track and in one of the best moods ever.. it was great...

The best part was that it was followed by the dance valley theme 2001 -nice and fast- and the PUNK... omg, i died so many times, but it was a sweet death while dancing like a madman.. I loved it..

thanks Ferry, you made my weekend :)
