Sonka, you're trying to have the power of a desktop crammed into a laptop. It doesn't really work unless you're ready spend some serious coin. Decide if you need the laptop for portability, or if you need a powerhouse for design. With graphic design especially I would recommend a desktop (unless you have to make presentations in which case just about any laptop would do) because they have better/bigger screens and you can swap out parts as they become obsolete.

maybe now?

when i was buying a laptop it was definitely the pricier of the three.

i got a sony because it was the most fairly priced.

the more ram is not better, thats where random crashes can occur, you need a better processor that can handle the 3d work, 2ghz+ i'd say is pretty good, 1gig ram is good enough 2 is waste of money imo, plus you can always upgrade later for cheap if you really need more. I have 512 ram and i can run 3d studio max no problem.

+1

they always overprice the ram when u get 2gb. getting 1 gb and buying another gig somewhere else will be a lot cheaper, if you feel u need it.

sony is overpriced for the configuration they offer, you would probably pay 10-20% more depending on the laptop "style", macs are even worse $2500 for a laptop that could be purchased for maybe 1500 at most (diferent brand)

look at some of the prices on sony site..

I would suggest getting an LG, good battery life and good warranty, any models over 1300$ about that come with three year warranty. Also they build laptops for IBM, Toshiba, HP, and Apple for 11 years.

No and never. LG (renamed from Gold Star) does not build laptops for the above. They build components and parts for the above. Big difference. It's like saying Magna builds cars for GM and Ford.

You sure are taking customers for a ride, aren't you?

If the LG come with 3 year warranty that might be a pretty good deal. My ThinkPad Z60t only came with a 1 year.

The LG representative came in and gave us a seminar about it cause IBM doesnt build their own laptops, IBM is solely R&D so they have Lenovo making it for them now, and LG back then. He also said that Asus builds Apple notebooks now. LG's battery life is also good too, no explosions yet hehe :D and the 3 year warranty is like a $200 value
