so what, you gotta be black to excel in rhyming ? i grew up with this hip hop .. only hip hop element out of the 4 i didnt physically experience is breakdancing.. so does it make any black person naturally more inlcined to hip hop than i am ? this aint a hip hop forum yeah but theres been many hip hop related threads in the COR alone even a COR freestyle/battle thread if i remember correctly.

listen, i dont care where youve come from, but if you arent a hip hop individual now, you likely will never be.

i have not once made any claim to *my* hip hop credibility but i know what im talking about. and i know enough to keep my mouth shut from time to time.

if you can rhyme, maybe make an mp3 or youtube of it for others to truly judge. some of the best sequences in hip hop wouldnt make sense on paper, so why try to thug ala forum?!

if you took it that way i guess its your opinion. ive never wanted to be a hip hop artist why would you make an assumption that i was tryin to pursue that ? i simply rhyme for fun and incorporate hip hop djing techniques into my sets. i dont need anyone's approval of my 'rhyming ability' as me & others stated rhymes posted here were done in fun besides i wasnt the first one to start posting my rhymes here anyway.

if you think i was trying to 'thug ala forum' thats your problem i guess cuz your lack of elaboration/constructive criticism only makes me conclude youre just hating. peace.
biznology
yeah, hating....zzzzz|

you honestly sound like a moron biznology...it's just fun on a forum, quit getting all ing elitest on us. we can do whatever the hell we want on these forums provided they are within the guidelines, so piss off;)

I don't really get all this hip hop is dead attitude. If you look beyond the regular cats like Jay-Z and Nas (why are people so obsessed with these two?) you'll find that there has actually been some very good stuff put out in 2006.

The Roots returned with a ing outstanding record, raw and dark.
The Coup also put out a very dope CD, been playing this one alot.
Dilla completed Donuts (only three days before he passed), and it was followed by The Shining and a re-release of Ruff Draft, both excellent.
Sivion with his positive attitude is a fresh name to the scene, check out Spring of The Songbird.
Madlib/Kweli did an album together, and even released it for free!

I'm dissapointed in Mos Def these days though, wish he would get back on form sometime soon.

dont forget Ghost's FishScale & More Fish... FishScale is one of the best releases of 2006...

what constitutes if you are a hiphop individual?

why does one need to truly be judged if all they care about is the art form and the expression?

Who said anything about trying to thug ala forum? They was spitting verses, typing them out, and if you read my replies i was saying tek was tossing out metaphors and double entendre's that if you didn't see it in text you'd probably miss hearing it. i think you're wrong, if it's not good on paper then how would it make sense in flow?
