My Story:

Around 1 year ago, I met a guy online called Shane from www.trancexual.com wanting to release one of my tracks on mp3 @ audiojelly. So without signing a contract I sent him the mp3 and he had it online next day.

That label looks _really_ dodgy mate, why on earth did you even consider sending them stuff?

Update:

Audiojelly have taken the track off their site and all the other tracks by other artists he had signed for the time being. They said that they will try and contact the owner of trancexual on my behalf and see wots up.

IMO Download say that they have a contract with trancexual and not with me, so before they do anything they need to talk with the owner. They sent me an illegal track ownership form that i have filled in and sent back to them.

Still havent heard anything from trancxual myself so we just gotta wait and see wot happens.

Keep us posted. Hopefully we can all work to avoid these things in the future-

. this label owner has been punished enough by the looks of it. i mean something seriously wrong must have happened for him to be put in the frame of mind to name his label 'trancexual recordings'.

and as an artist, i would seriously be deter'd by the label name like that... unless is was a ladyboy..

i have noticed that some **** has taken it upon themselfs to upload my latest release to every illegal trance torrent/download site there is. and the site comes up on google before the audiojelly link! id take it with a pinch of salt. small producers like ourselfs loose a few £'s worth od sales. i bet big dj's loose so much money from all these illegal things.

if you haven't had them copyrighted yet, you need to do this *immediately*.

then, either way, you sue for damages.

With the amount of music getting sold these days, you may get a penny or two (litterally)

I wouldn't say that.

Its just one of those things you have to accept as a producer, your music will always be put on file sharing networks and torrent sites. I found my whole EP on soulseek. Bastards.

LOL, i had that many Russian MP3 websites selling my Evanescence remix (without any permission) a few years back that the official fansite had it listed as an official remix! :haha:
