I've been a follower of Christopher Lawrence since 2002. At the time, he was just released EXPOSURE IV, which was his 6th mix cd. I first saw him on Spundae Circus LA, where he was God there... LA has a lot of support for CL back then, rarely seen in many other cities.
I bought his other mix cd's right after that, Rise, Temptation, Trilogy, United States of Trance, Around the World, and Exposure IV. They were all pretty good i think... one thing that made it great is that every mix cd has a different style to it... CL is definitely better live! he's a great dj live...
UNTIL the remix of subculture 01... CL finally released his best mix CD ever! this cd is my favorite all time mix cd.. it's mix very nicely, the trax are amazing, the psy trance is there... a lot of respect for CL to be playing psy knowing lots of people in america aren't really caught up with it yet!
GATECRASHER is a good follow up to Subculture 01, i think cd 2 is equally great with subculture, CD 1 sounds overplayed to me, because i'm a crazy CL fan, i pretty much follow wherever he goes in the west coast (seen him from santa barbara, ohio, all the way to toronto once). Both are great CDs, just i think cd 2 is really exciting, with trax by Lee Haslam, and also His new single with j00f "beyond the limit"
This weekend! CL in SAn Francisco, i can not wait to see him and also Infected Mushroom on the show! it will be one hell of a night... |
