A question about Nalin & Kane - Beachball

I have never come across an 'original' version of this track, what's the story here? Is there one in existence?

Any help would be appreciated.

The "original" mix is what Oakenfold used to play. It's sometimes labeled as the "Original Club Mix". The biggest difference is that it has a breakdown with ocean sounds and some minor vocal parts.

Original Club Mix (10:23) is the original. It's an instrumental version and was also the first version made. Extended Vocal Mix (7:36) is sound and structurewise about the same thing only in a slightly shorter form and with vocals added.

Andry meets Schalli @ Monkey Island Remix (7:14) is a chill version. As a record it's available only on Superfly Summer Sampler Volume 1 vinyl but digitally it's on Beatport and Audiojelly.

I could be wrong, so please correct me if I am, but would this be the first version?

Yes that is the first version, the same mix which was labeled as Original Club Mix on the later releases.

Jyri you might be wrong on this one... I'm not sure if the 'Original Club mix (10:23) is actually the original. I searched on DC++ and found one result of a track labelled Nalin & Kane - Beachball [Original Mix] . It is 7:10, but only 96k bitrate. Any idea what this is?
I really want to get to the bottom of this mystery

LOL i know i'm right. Don't trust every mp3 you get from p2p. That 7:10 version is most likely just an edited cut of the 10:23 version, taken from similar releases to THIS vinyl, THIS compilation or perhaps from THIS mix CD. If the 7:10 version has vocals, then it's just a mixed/edited version of the Extended Vocal Mix.

If an mp3 is labeled as something, doesn't mean it actually is that version or track even. Especially compilations and mix CDs do feature massive amounts of mislabels, misprints and wrong information.

Several mixes feature the seagulls. And IMO G&D mix is one of the worst out of the 20+ mixes. :stongue:

Uhh what? G+D happens to be my favourite version, together with the extended vocal mix.
