Caucasus is a very dangerous place to be. If you are around Georgia, Chechnya you have a slight chance of getting taken into slavery. I hear a lot about Russia's abuse of Caucasus, but not enough of the other issues. Here's a recent story of a Russian man who in 1992 was taken into slavery for 15 years to work for various Georgian families. Those bastards :whip: The man has been missing for 15 years, he said that he was a slave worker along with numerous other people, Russians, Ukrainians and other nationalities. His identity has been confirmed. He said also on the Russian news link that he has been transferred from place to place in many parts of Georgia.

SUKHUMI, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian man has been handed over to Russian peacekeepers in a breakaway Georgian republic after 15 years of captivity in Georgia, a security official in the republic said.

Vladimir Obidin, 64, was handed over to Russian authorities after they confirmed his citizenship.

The man was found in self-proclaimed Abkhazia without any documents and delivered to Abkhazian security officials March 6.

Obidin said later he had been held as a private sector worker on Georgian territory since 1992. He said he had not been paid and lived in a barn. According to Obidin, he tried to escape several times, but was caught and beaten up.

Georgia's Ministry of Justice said Monday it had filed a lawsuit against Russia with the European Court of Human Rights for the alleged illegal deportation of Georgian citizens amid a bilateral diplomatic feud last year.

"The lawsuit is based on thousands of serious rights violations of Georgian citizens and ethnic Georgians during the deportation from Russia," the ministry said in an official statement.

Too bad the Western media as always sidesteps issues like this ... if this was a Russian family enslaving an ethnic Georgian, the western media would have a huge frenzy ...
