lol that's the thing. i am usually either dragging objects or manipulating material, and i need to see filenames by either dragging them to the command prompt, or hitting the [TAB] key to get files at work.. :)
[edit] oh yeah, now that i think about it, all my co-workers have a dark desktop like i do, yet i am the only one with the taskbar on the side. :) |

ah yeah
not too long ago i discovered when dragging files and , you can click+hold, hover over the window, and the window'll become active, no keyboard or resizing required :) |

Finally got sick of Windows and wiped it last week and am running Ubuntu with Beryl as a window manager. It's sex, and the four desktops lets me keep everything more organized.
