like a metal fork in your microwave for like 30 seconds. Is it still safe to use the microwave?

That would depend on whether your microwave is from the seventies or actually new. The old ones won't like metal inside them but some (or most/all) of the latest models have no problems with metal being inside them.

There were ancient microwaves in ancient greece, they have been lost for centuries. They could cook gyros in seconds!
